I'm Lesley, a Licensed Professional Counselor and coach. As an intersectional feminist therapist, I see the people I work with as individuals that have been shaped or conditioned by the larger systems they have been a part of. Family, community, country, world, and anything and everything in between.
Social conditioning and systems of power and oppression often force and contort us into the people we think, or are told, we "should be" or have to be in order to be loved and feel worthy. My role is to help you unbind, stretch, and fluff your ass back into the shape you were meant to be all along. And to help you learn to trust and love who that person is, no matter what anyone else tries to say otherwise.
Because there's space in this world for you to be loved and valued as your biggest, boldest self. The world needs who you were born to be. Now more than ever.
In my individual sessions, I typically use conventional therapeutic approaches like Psychodynamic/Psychoanalytic, Internal Family Systems, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as the foundation for my therapy work. I also love to compliment those methods with unconventional tools (astrology, tarot, the Enneagram, and Human Design) based on what clients are comfortable with. The integration of these tools combine well with my therapeutic work, adding a richness and depth to not only my understanding of who the person is in front of me, but to also to improve their own self understanding and acceptance. There's power in seeing and knowing yourself. Of seeing all the parts that make up who you are and not rejecting or needing to hide any of what you find.
As a therapist, I can guarantee you I will be your "hype-man," your cheerleader, and your #1 fan. I'll treat you and your story with the care and kindness it deserves. And, I can also promise you that I will lovingly kick your ass (therapeutically, of course) when you need a little encouragement to see things differently. When I work with a client, trust me, it's work. Sometimes it'll feel like you're shooting the shit with a bestie. And sometimes it'll feel like you're getting nailed to the wall in your vulnerability.
Healing work can be messy, hard, and really fucking uncomfortable. I will push you out of your comfort zone and towards the goals you've identified for yourself. Hell, I may even piss you off! And that's totally okay! I'll be here walking this road with you every single step of the way that you'll let me. Even when it doesn't look it's prettiest. Because you deserve the opportunity to feel your best, to feel supported, and to show up fully in your life. And that takes work. Work that you are 100% capable of doing.
Ready to take the next step?
In loving memory of my sweet Roxy girl.
